He defended his<br \/>\ndissertation on \u201cPeasant Economy in the Kharkiv Province of the Russian<br \/>\nEmpire (late nineteenth \u2013 early twentieth century)\u201d at the Karazin<br \/>\nKharkiv National University in 2005. He has held various research<br \/>\nfellowships, such as that of The Fulbright Scholar Program at The Kennan<br \/>\nInstitute in Washington, D.C. (2016-17), The Visby Program Fellowship<br \/>\nat Uppsala University, Sweden (2015), and the Research Fellowship of the<br \/>\nBlack Sea Link Program at New Europe College in Bucharest (2012-13).<br \/>\nHis has published numerous studies on the history of industrialization<br \/>\nand entrepreneurship in Eastern Europe and on the history of company<br \/>\ntowns in Ukraine. He is the program manager of the Kowalsky Program for<br \/>\nthe Study of Eastern Ukraine in Kharkiv run by The Canadian Institute of<br \/>\nUkrainian Studies of the University of Alberta. He has taught courses<br \/>\non various historical subjects as well as on Digital Humanities at the<br \/>\nKarazin Kharkiv National University and at the Central European<br \/>\nUniversity in Budapest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Selected publications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Industrialization and Transformation of the Landscape in the Donbas Region (Late 19th \u2013 Early 20th Century).
