There is no just one season to visit the Rila Monastery… especially when the delicious mekitzi are at stake!
In fact, a group of CAS Fellows had the chance to experience its timeless beauty firsthand during a visit in November 2024. Despite the crisp mountain air, the monastery’s serene atmosphere, rich history, and stunning architecture left a lasting impression. The warm hospitality—and of course, the freshly made mekitzi—made the trip not only intellectually interesting but also a delight to the senses.
