The regular discussion series on the topic “Bulgaria after Chernobyl” started in January 2025. The idea of this seminar is to publicise the latest discoveries made by our team of researchers, whose goal it is to shed light on the “management” and consequences of the Chernobyl disaster in Bulgaria.

The seminar is co-organised by the Centre for Advanced Study Sofia (https://cas.bg/en/) and the Institute for Studies of the Recent Past (https://minaloto.bg/gb/).

The seventh seminar will take place on 12 May 2025, Monday, at 16:30 at the Centre for Advanced Study Sofia.

The Bulgarian Army and  the Chernobyl Disaster

Zhivko Lefterov is a historian teaching at the New Bulgarian University. His expertise lies in the fields of modern confessional and military history of Bulgaria.
