A regular discussion series on the topic “Bulgaria after Chernobyl” is set to start in Janury 2025. The idea of this seminar is to publicise the latest discoveries made by our team of researchers, whose goal it is to shed light on the “management” and consequences of the Chernobyl disaster in Bulgaria.

The seminar is co-organised by the Centre for Advanced Study Sofia (https://cas.bg/en/) and the Institute for Studies of the Recent Past (https://minaloto.bg/gb/).

The second seminar will take place on 11 February 2025, Tuesday, at 16:30 at the Centre for Advanced Study Sofia.

Prof. Momchil Metodiev will introduce the topic “The Bulgarian State and the Chernobyl Accident: Decision-Making Process, Historical Context and Consequences.”
