The regular discussion series on the topic “Bulgaria after Chernobyl” started in January 2025. The idea of this seminar is to publicise the latest discoveries made by our team of researchers, whose goal it is to shed light on the “management” and consequences of the Chernobyl disaster in Bulgaria.

The seminar is co-organised by the Centre for Advanced Study Sofia (https://cas.bg/en/) and the Institute for Studies of the Recent Past (https://minaloto.bg/gb/).

The fifth seminar will take place on 15 April 2025, Tuesday, at 16:30 at the Centre for Advanced Study Sofia.

Georgi Kaschiev, a physician who had worked in the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant, when the Chernobyl catastrophe shook the balances of the communist block, will share his recollections from this period.
