Alessandro Nannini (1985) earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Philosophy as well as his master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology at the University of Bologna, while he is a PhD graduate from the University of Palermo (2015). He has benefitted from several grants and fellowships (DAAD Fellowship, University of Halle-Wittenberg, 2013; ACRI Award, University of Parma, 2016, Fritz Thyssen Fellowship, University of Jena, 2016-2017; Weimar Post-Doctoral Award, Klassik Stiftung Weimar, 2017; ICUB Fellowship for Young Researchers, University of Bucharest, 2018; Gotha; Herzog-Ernst Scholarship, University of Erfurt, 2018; New Europe College International Fellowship, Bucharest, 2019). Currently, he is a researcher in philosophy at the University of Bucharest and a member of the research group “Philosophie allemande au 18e siècle” affiliated with the Institut d’histoire des représentations et des idées dans les modernités at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Lyon. His research concerns the intellectual history and aesthetics of the Early Modern Age, especially the German Enlightenment, with particular regard to the intersections of philosophy, history of science, and Lutheran theology.
