Eszter Szabó-Reznek is a theatre historian and associate lecturer at the Department of Hungarology, Jewish Studies and Rromani, University of Bucharest. She holds a PhD in 19th-century theatre history. Following her studies at the Babeș–Bolyai University in Cluj and the University of Szeged, between 2017 and 2024 she worked as a researcher at the Institute for Literary Studies of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Budapest. She was part of the “Political Economy of Literature” Research Group funded by the Hungarian Academy. Working closely with the Archive of the Hungarian State Theatre of Cluj, Romania, the focus of her research shifted recently to the Stalinization of culture in Romania, minority language theatre and socialist theatre practices.
