Gergana Mircheva received a LLM in Administration of Justice from the Faculty of Law, Sofi a University, and is currently enrolled in the PhD Programme of the Faculty of Philosophy, Department of Cultural Studies). Her research interests are in the fi elds of modern Bulgarian cultural studies, nationalism, social history of medicine, and eugenics. Her PhD thesis examines Physical and Mental Abnormalities in Normative Regimes of Access to Publicity: Social Hygiene and Eugenic Projects in Bulgaria (1878-1945).
Gergana Mircheva is a former Fellow of the Centre of Advanced Study Sofia (2005-2006), working in the framework of the Roles, Identities and Hybrids Project Fellowship Programme. Currently, she is a member of the International Workgroup on the History of Racial Sciences and Biomedicine in Central and Southeast Europe: XIX and XX Centuries, based at Oxford Brookes University, UK.
