Margaret Dimitrova

Margaret Dimitrova is professor of Bulgarian Historical Linguistics at St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia. Her research is focused on medieval and early modern South Slavonic manuscripts and on translations of Christian texts from Greek and Latin produced in the Balkans. Thus, she has authored more than 90 papers on medieval Slavonic texts and manuscripts. Also, she published a book on a translation of a Greek catena with commentaries on the Song of Songs as the translation survived in a 15th-century Rila Monastery manuscript (2012) as well as a book on prayers for newborn and their mothers in medieval South and East Slavonic manuscripts (2014). She has contributed also to two editions of copies of Paisii Hilendarski’s History Slavo-Bulgarian (2012), to the edition of the Second Beram Breviary (2018), and to a catalogue of Zograf Monastery manuscripts from the 17th-20th centuries (2017).
