Nejda is a transdisciplinary artist born in Geneva, Switzerland, in a very multicultural family. She studied music, writing and visual arts in Switzerland, Italy and the US, and has invented an artistic path that mingles all these different fields together, while poetry remains the discipline that leads and inspires all of her work.
Alongside traditional publishing, her poems are used as pieces featured in her visual creations – paintings, photographs, virtual reality videos, sculptures – as lyrics for songs or as parts of transdisciplinary live performances that she creates with the TLC Project, a poetry-music-visual arts improvisation show experience she founded in New York, in 2014.
Nejda grew up speaking French and English, which led her to write in these two languages and to look at life through the prism of a mind that is constantly translating one element to another. This certainly led her to mix music composition with writing and visual arts as well, as the medium appears to always be less important than the intended message.
In a large part of her work, Nejda explores the idea of freedom and the role of the individual faced with group consciousness. She sees the world as an interconnected entity that is best explored and experienced by going beyond the frontiers of any given discipline. Her focus is to bring to light the invisible elements of our common human experience, while adding her singular view to it and trying to move it one step further.
Based in Geneva, she currently works in Europe and in the US and travels the world as a performing artist, a writer, a composer, and a producer.
