Oleksii (Oleksiy) Polunin

Oleksiy Polunin is a professor at the Department of Psychology of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine in Kyiv. He has a PhD in psychology from the National Taras Shevchenko University (Kyiv) and a Doctor of Sciences degree (Dr Habil) in psychology from the Institute of Social and Political Psychology (Kyiv). He also earned extensive research experience at universities in Austria, Germany, Slovakia, and Sweden. The central theme of research is time perception and human time processing, which includes such topics as individual timing mechanism and its functional features, psychological methods of time studies, phenomenology and the quantitative aspects of subjective present time, cognitive encoding of time direction, features of temporal dimension of human experience, mental representation of time flow and decision making. In the last few years, philosophical topics, especially the metaphysics of time, have also interested Prof. Polunin’s studies.
