Svetoslav Malinov is a professor of the history of political ideas in the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Philosophy of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”; at present, he is the president of the Bulgarian Political Science Association. He holds a BA, MA, and PhD in political science from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and a MA in political philosophy from the University of York (UK). His main research interests focus on the history of political philosophy, Christian democracy, conservatism, and the theory of democracy. Among his most recent publications are the books Dangerous Minds: Essays on Nineteenth-Century Political Radicalism (2022), “The Spirit of the Laws” by Charles-Louis de Montesquieu: A Short Introduction (2023), and the articles “Pride, Reason, and Salvation: Reflections on the Meaning of Thomas More’s Utopia,” FILOSOFIA, vol. 33, issue 4, 2024; “Trust in Tradition? An Attempt at a Political-Theoretical Answer,” Bulgarian Philosophical Review, vol. 15, 2025.
