Wai-Yip Ho received his MA in Islamic Studies at Institute of Arab & Islamic Studies, University of Exeter, and MA as well as PhD of Social Science at Hong Kong University of Science & Technology. He has recently been a Fellow at Joint Centre for Advanced Studies, University of Göttingen, François Chevalier Fellow at Madrid Institute for Advanced Study; Fellow at Institut d’études avancées de Nantes, External Senior Fellow (Marie S. Curie FCFP) at Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies, Honorary Researcher at Institute of Arab & Islamic Studies, University of Exeter, etc.
He is currently the Sessional Associate Professor of Sociology at Trinity Western University in British Columbia, Canada. His publications include an edited volume Islam [Religious Studies in Contemporary China Collection] (Brill. 2017) and a monograph Islam and China’s Hong Kong: Ethnic Identity, Muslim Network and New Silk Road. (Routledge, 2013).
