Following the course of the Maritsa River, a group of eight CAS Fellows embarked on an two-days expedition through Bulgaria’s layered history. By tracing the river, the fellowship connected two different eras: the sun-drenched ruins of ancient Perperikon, and the stark, monumental geometry of Dimitrovgrad, a planned city born from the fervor of socialist modernism.
